Kate Dawson, MSW

Whether you know exactly what's bothering you or just have a sense things could be better, Kate's warm and compassionate presence creates a nonjudgmental space that enables you to explore patterns that keep you stuck, develop skills to live more fully, and ultimately, achieve your goals. Kate values attachment, psychodynamic, relational, and multicultural theories that guide her framework of practice. She prioritizes a strong therapeutic relationship and connection in her work, creating a safe space for vulnerability, growth, and change.

Kate received her Master's in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and completed her first-level internship at Family Horizons prior to joining the team as a Student Clinician. She has extensive experience working with survivors of trauma, domestic violence, and crisis intervention. She understands the complexities of the legal system, and compassionately supports families through reunification and high-conflict divorce. Kate works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a variety of challenges, including relationship issues, life transitions, and co-parenting.

Kate is currently training at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago within the Pritzker Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she serves in a primary therapist role for the Partial Hospitalization Program.
